Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a sleep related breathing disorder characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep. This may happen as frequently as 20 or 30 times per hour or more while you sleep. Early recognition and treatment is critical as sleep disorders adversely affect your physical and mental health.
Left untreated, sleep disorders reduce your daytime productivity, increase your risk for accidents, and put you at risk for other illnesses. Personality changes, memory loss, reduced attention span, poor judgement and lethargy may indicate the presence of a sleep disorder.
